The gap

Most local business owners aren't in QuickBooks.

Anthropic surveyed small businesses and found their AI adoption lags far behind larger companies. What they didn't say is why: the tools that would benefit most from AI — QuickBooks, HubSpot, DocuSign — are the same tools that small businesses haven't adopted yet.

The barber with a booth at a shop in Chicago isn't on QuickBooks. The landscaper doing $20k a month in revenue doesn't have HubSpot. The food truck owner doesn't use DocuSign. They use their phone, their bank, and Square — and they have no idea if they're actually profitable.

That's the gap HayberBooks fills. Not AI layered on top of existing accounting software. AI that replaces the need for accounting software in the first place — for the business owners who were never going to use it anyway.

"I didn't know if I was making money."

That's the most common thing we hear from the business owners HayberBooks is built for. Not "I need better reporting." Not "I want AI in my workflow." Just: I work hard, money moves through my account, and I have no idea where it goes or whether I'm ahead.

Common questions

Can I use HayberBooks and Claude for Small Business together?

Yes — they do different things. HayberBooks handles your bank transaction visibility. Claude for Small Business handles workflows inside your existing tools. If you use QuickBooks and want AI inside it, Claude for SMB makes sense. HayberBooks still gives you the bank-level cash flow picture that QuickBooks itself sometimes obscures.

Will Anthropic add bank sync to Claude for Small Business?

Possibly over time. Right now it connects to QuickBooks, which has its own bank import. But QuickBooks bank import still requires reconciliation and categorization work — it doesn't give you the real-time, auto-categorized, plain-English view that HayberBooks does. We'll keep watching.

Is HayberBooks built on Claude?

Yes. We use Claude (Haiku and Sonnet) for auto-categorization, weekly summaries, and the Ask your books feature. HayberBooks is a product built on the Anthropic API — the same underlying models as Claude for Small Business, applied specifically to bank transaction data.

What if my bank isn't supported by Plaid?

You can import your bank statements directly as a CSV or PDF. Most banks let you export a statement in 2-3 minutes. HayberBooks parses the file and loads your transactions automatically.

Do I need an accountant if I use HayberBooks?

HayberBooks doesn't replace your accountant — it makes your time with your accountant more productive. When tax season comes, you'll actually know what happened in your business instead of handing over a shoe box of receipts.

Know where your money goes.

No QuickBooks required. No accounting degree. Just connect your bank and get a clear picture of your business finances — starting this Monday.
